Wisdom Teeth

It’s that time of year again, sun is out pools are open, and teenagers are in need of getting their wisdom teeth out.  Wisdom teeth, or third molars, are the very last teeth in your mouth.  Recovery is fairly quick and most teens are fully recovered in 4-6 days to pursue their summer activities.  Wisdom teeth can start to cause discomfort around the age of 16.  In most cases they need to be removed, they can cause infection, cavities, cysts/tumors or other pathology and even damage neighboring teeth.  When the tooth does not fully become visible it is “impacted” which is pretty common because most people just do not have enough room in their mouth for third molars.  Most wisdom teeth extractions are done under IV sedation.  Call us today for a consultation!
